Not all classifications will be to perform all job functions.Uses safety approved air gun to remove grit and dust after blasting. Removes all protective car coverings blows trucks and other car parts clean and inspects the car to ensure that it has not been damaged.Removes all weld spatter laminations and sharp edges from inside tank/hopper cars by grinding. Grinds girth weld level on floor when .Vacuums complete interior of tank car. Foils and tapes all stainless steel inside tank car as .Maintains equipment and replenishes the short supply.Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards.Eligibility RequirementsMust have a high school diploma GED or pass a Combined Basic Skills TestHave experience in machine operationMust be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independentlyAble to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervisionAbility to read interpret and follow documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and assembly instructionsHave analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detailAbility to perform general mathematical calculations including but not limited to addition subtraction multiplication fractions percentages and divisionSafety and quality focusedBe available to work any shift and be dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime as allowed per the union contractEnvironmental & Working ConditionsWill have to lift up to 50 pounds safely and drag blast hose over the full length of railcarWill perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materialsMay work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE and fall protectionClose mental and visual attention coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time#rateWhy Join Our TeamWe take pride in offering our employees rich benefits packages.
