Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Able to repair and troubleshoot boat electrical systemsCan troubleshoot and repair different stern drives, outboards/inboards to determine the nature and extent of damage or malfunctionCan provide repairs to all types of marine engines and drivesKnow how to install gauges and electronics, run wires and cablesAble to work on outfitting of vessels to include sponsons/collars, handrails, non-skid, etc…Clean vessels for return to the customerMaintain standards, policies, practices, and procedures in order to deliver projects with efficiency to meet contractual requirements.Ensure quality work is performedAbility to be a self-starter and work independently or with othersPossess strong organizational skills and able to prioritize workCapable to tow boats on own, and launch and load boats with helpAlready know or will be trained to safely operate government vessels during sea trialsAdditional Duties and Responsibilities:Complete other tasks assigned by Shop Manager including assisting on the assembly floor as needed or work allowsQualifications:Must have automotive and/or marine engine repair experienceBasic trade knowledge, such as the use of job-related tools and equipmentPersonal tools are required, Fairlead has specialty tools and manufacturer specific toolsStrong work ethic (flexible, reliable, and punctual)Must be able to complete assigned work in an efficient and timely mannerHigh mental and visual effort requiredCapable of reading and understanding work specifications and associated drawings and referencesAbility to obtain government issued base IDMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentPhysical Demands:While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Work Environment:This position is performed in a marine environment, with some local travel between facilities.Position is forty hours a week.
