Overview

The Body Installation Technician will be required to assemble body kits, perform chassis preparation for install, and install bodies on chassis on our Versatran Retriever equipment. Duties include frame drilling, electronics integration, and pneumatic installation of industrial transport bodies .

1st shift - 6:00a to 2:30p Monday through Friday core hours

Mandatory Overtime currently 5:00a to 3:30p M - F with 5 hours on Saturday

Versatran is a division of Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is building our team to support business growth. Versatran manufactures the patented Retriever line of equipment transport truck beds. ( )



Responsibilities

  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams and work instructions.
  • Meet production performance standards.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Connects electrical wiring and cables.
  • Installs lighting, outlets, switches, power boxes, and video equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and willing to learn.
  • Progressive vehicle systems interface as capabilities increase.
  • Work safely in a production environment wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow corporate safety standards is required.


Qualifications

  • Strong problem solver, both strategically and tactically while using research, and organizational skills
  • Possesses a high sense of urgency and ability to adapt to high and low pace work environments
  • Self-motivated and team oriented. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to work successfully in both team and autonomous environments.
  • Collaborative, confident self-starter with a willingness to continually embrace professional development and a passion to excel
  • Ability to take initiative in driving install process from chassis prep to final inspection to meet deadlines.

    • Hand tools - pneumatic and battery operated
    • Weld Equipment
    • Overhead Cranes
    • Grinders
    • Plasma Cutter

Education/Experience

  • Previous work in an assembly environment.
  • Previous experience in the truck equipment industry or similar industry.
  • Previous experience working against timed job standards and a proven record of being able to meet completion standards.
  • Attention to detail in every aspect of the job.
  • Able to maintain a neat, clean and organized work area.
  • High School or GED


Compensation details: 7.24-7.25
