To learn more about what we offer please refer to UWsBenefits Summary.JOB TITLE: Born Digital ArchivistJOB PURPOSE:Oversee the operation of select archival financial personnel and institutional support functions. Supervise individuals or multiple units within a department as designated by the departmental manager; alternatively they may report to the director and take on responsibilities that are Center-wide.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Functions as the Born Digital Archivist for the American Heritage Center involved with all aspects of born-digital archival records.Pays close attention to the born digital records of the University of Wyoming and works closely with the AHCs University Archivist to manage the universitys electronic records and thoroughly integrate them with physical content.Assesses software and hardware needs of user departments and recommends appropriate applications to ensure their compliance with best practices for permanent record maintenance and storage within the AHCs Digital Archives.Directly oversees the operation of various aspects of the American Heritage Centers born-digital archives and both coordinates with and directly assists AHC departments and units to maintain effective workflows relating to the acquisition ingest preservation access and long-term storage of digital materials entrusted to the Centers care.Trains and supervises AHC employees working within the Centers Born Digital Archives to maintain an efficient and productive workflow. Reports to the AHC Assistant Director.SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:Some travel may be required.May serve as a representative for the department or center on University or other committees as directed.Acquire and continually update knowledge of current archival and support functions to facilitate assigned Born Digital AHC operations.May perform additional special assignments as directed.Participate in outreach functions to promote the AHCs goals and programs.COMPETENCIES:Attention to DetailTechnical proficiency in assigned responsibilitiesProgressive professional developmentIntegrityConsistencyQuality OrientationIndependenceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience: 5 years work-related experience in an archival settingRequired licensure certification registration or other requirements:Valid drivers license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:An MLS or MLIS degree with a concentration in digital management.Extensive knowledge of archivalconcepts methodology and techniques.Experience with University state and federalpolicies rules and regulations relating to archives.Experience with contemporary archivaland records management principles and practices.Experience with creating and maintaining databases.Knowledge of data management and tracking principle and protocols.Knowledge of descriptive cataloging principles and archives use of the Internet.REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:Complete the online application.
