Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Engineer II at the Grand Rapids Michigan office to perform routine in-depth and fracture critical inspections. Inspections may include use of snooper trucks bucket trucks boats and/or man lifts. Inspections will require in-state and out-of-state travel.This opportunity can include bridge design and construction work and the ability to complete design related tasks with a clear understanding of Michigan DOT regional and municipal standards is applicable to the responsibilities of this position.Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered. Identifies discrepancies in results. Provides guidance to entry level engineers. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.Qualifications : Minimum Qualifications:BA/BS 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Valid Drivers license.Preferred Qualifications:2 years experience of bridge inspection and/or bridge design experienceEngineer in Training (EIT).PE highly preferredCertified Bridge Inspector/Team Leader status in at least 1 stateAASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR) experienceFHWA-NHI-130055 or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges CertificationFHWA-NHI-130078 NSTM Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges CertificationFHWA-NHI-130110 Tunnel Safety Inspection CertificationExperience operating snooper trucks bucket trucks and man liftsAdditional Information : All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.AECOM is interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States.
