For more information please visit RESPONSIBILITIESBudget Planning & AnalysisAnalyze prepare and reconcile data for department budgets and forecasts including personnel salary/wage data program-based spending plans and clinical billing metrics.Evaluate variances between budget and actual results. Select and export source data from financial systems compare actuals with prior period and current budgets and make projections and recommendations.Integrate a broad knowledge of Vanderbilt systems accounting practices budgetary guidance and operations into departmental financial planning.Budget ReportingDesign develop and implement dynamic financial/budget reporting. For department reporting leverage existing out-of-the-box reports build custom reports where needed and develop additional analyses in Excel.Prepare periodic and ad hoc financial analyses to identify trends and support departmental decision-making.Communicate financial information to VUMC stakeholders of varying seniority and functions responding to requests for information with accurate and timely follow-up.Accounting and Financial OperationsMaintain compensation accrual schedules validate liability balances and prepare month-end and year-end journal entries.Prepare and review financial transactions in accounting system according to month-end and year-end close schedules.Provide end user guidance on booking transactions to promote consistency in financial accounting and reporting.GeneralMaintain confidentiality of data.Apply Financial Management budget guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.Use creative problem-solving skills.Use excellent written and oral communication skills.Our professional administrative functions include critical supporting roles in information technology and informatics finance administration legal and community affairs human resources communications and marketing development facilities and many more.At our growing health system we support each other and encourage excellence among all who are part of our workforce.
