Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and motivated team member to support the building and fabrication of tools and equipment in a fast-paced shop environment. This role works closely with engineering and production teams to review drawings, BOMs, and work instructions while helping complete projects safely, accurately, and on schedule.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with shop equipment, hand tools, and a variety of materials including aluminum, steel, and invar. Daily responsibilities include tool building, machining operations, measuring and inspection, material handling, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Strong teamwork, quality workmanship, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering information, tool drawings, BOMs, and SOWs to help plan builds and fabrication steps.
• Build tools using the provided prints and documentation.
• Perform drilling, tapping, reaming, and dowel installation.
• Operate equipment such as Bridgeport mills and surface grinders.
• Safely operate forklifts/hi-los and overhead cranes.
• Work together with the team to keep projects on track and meeting quality expectations.
• Track hours and project progress accurately.
• Help keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow safe work practices and company safety procedures.
• Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and lasers.
• Assist with sketches and fabrication instructions when needed.
• Work with materials such as aluminum, steel, and invar.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
