Building Engineer at MalaceHR

The Building Engineer plays a key role in maintaining the safety functionality and comfort of our facilities. This position focuses on routine maintenance basic repairs and ensuring systemsincluding electrical plumbing HVAC and structural componentsoperate efficiently. The role primarily supports 7 Michigan properties within an hour of Troy. Company vehicle and has card supplied. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections of building systems equipment and groundsComplete work orders involving light electrical plumbing HVAC lighting and carpentry tasksSupport Property Manager in maintaining and following preventive maintenance schedulesRespond promptly and professionally to emergency maintenance situationsAssist skilled vendors and contractors with access and coordination as neededMonitor and maintain inventory of tools supplies and partsMaintain accurate maintenance logs documentation and service recordsConduct seasonal facility support tasks (e.g. snow removal landscaping heating/cooling prep)Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade training a plusMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance facility operations or a related fieldGeneral handyman skills in basic plumbing electrical HVAC and carpentry repairsAbility to read and interpret blueprints manuals and schematics (preferred)Strong problem-solving communication and time management skillsUnderstanding of position scopeknows when to escalate to licensed trades or specialistsPhysically able to lift bend climb and work in varying environmental conditionsValid drivers license Key Skills Microsoft Office,Microsoft Outlook,HVAC,Mechanical Knowledge,CMMS,Analysis Skills,OSHA,Metal Building Erection,Maintenance,Painting,Plumbing,Auto Restoration Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
