JOB DESCRIPTION

Burn Table Operator

As a Burn Table Operator, you will complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is set up, used, and left in a safe and clean manner. You will also alert Maintenance of any anticipated repair needs. Your role involves programming, operating, and maintaining plasma and oxy-fuel burntables. Additionally, you will ensure that parts are directed to the appropriate area and properly labeled. Effective utilization of all raw materials, particularly steel plates, is crucial. You will operate overhead cranes and forklifts and record production and inspection activities in a computer-based business system/program. You will fully support the company's ISO objectives, policies, procedures, and the GK SCOPE program.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure all equipment is set up, used, and left in a safe and clean manner.
  • Alert Maintenance of any anticipated repair needs.
  • Program, operate, and maintain plasma and oxy-fuel burntables.
  • Ensure parts are directed to the appropriate area and properly labeled.
  • Effectively utilize all raw materials, especially steel plates.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift.
  • Record production and inspection activities in a computer-based business system/program.
  • Fully support the company's ISO objectives, policies, procedures, and the GK SCOPE program.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in plasma cutting, burn table, laser cutter, laser welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • 2+ years of fabrication machine operation experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with blueprint reading is advantageous.

Work Environment:

You will work in a large equipment manufacturing shop that operates from 5:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, and from 5:00am to 11:00am on Saturdays. Standard working hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm, with current staff working 50 to 55 hours per week due to high demand. We aim to reduce these hours by expanding our team.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $58240.00/yr. Benefits include competitive pay, health, dental and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(K) with company match.

Workplace Type:

This is a fully onsite position in Crystal Lake, IL.
