The Business Development Director consults leaders in Higher Education about how research can transform Universities and College's. A highly motivated sales professional can use their knowledge of market trends and Hanover's market research capabilities to craft compelling solutions and generate revenue for the company while maximizing personal earning potential. Our Business Development Directors play a critical role driving the growth and expansion of our firm.They are passionate about the markets we serve and are dedicated to a high-performance environment.ResponsibilitiesConsult with prospects to identify challenges and issues impacting education leadersEducate prospects on solutions offered by Hanover's unique products and servicesDeliver polished presentations by phone and in-person that move opportunities from introduction to closeManage a robust pipeline of prospectsAccurately forecast based upon realistic opportunity assessmentMeet challenging monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goalsAct as a mentor to entry-level associatesDesired Skills and AttributesBachelor's degree preferred (business, social sciences, education, communications, political science, economics, psychology, public policy preferred)Minimum of 2-4+ years of consultative sales experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsWell-developed ability to ask probing questions and match solutions to prospects' challengesStrong organization skills and ability to manage a busy pipeline and meeting calendarStrong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SalesforceAbility to travel 10-20%Location:Office is located in Arlington, VAHybrid or Remote option availableBenefits:Competitive base salary and uncapped commission earning potential (Top performers earning exceeding $200K+ OTE)Award-winning training program on markets, research methodologies and sales skillsStarting at 18+ days Paid Time Off15 observed holidays, including Juneteenth, Indigenous People Day and personal floating days401(K) employer matching programsComprehensive health and dental benefits packageHealth and wellness packages with discounts to local gymAnnual company-wide day of service and monthly events partnering with local organizations such as KidPower, Martha's Kitchen, DC SPCACommunity service opportunitiesUnlimited snacks and beverages in officeCompensation:Hanover Research strives to create compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable and fair. The On Target Earning (OTE) range for this role is $115,000 - $189,000 per year, which is comprised of a base salary range from $80,000 - $105,000 and a variable uncapped commission structure ranging from $35,000 - $84,000 when goal is 100% obtained for this role.Please note that the base salary offered is contingent on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
