JOB DESCRIPTION
Business Development Manager
This is a growth and analytics leadership role not a relationship management role. You will oversee two business development staff and partner closely with our Head of Strategic Accounts to identify and act on growth opportunities across our portfolio. You are obsessed with numbers: pipeline health, revenue mix, account trajectory, and marketing-to-sales conversion. You will build the CRM and reporting infrastructure we don't yet have, and use it to drive measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Analytics & Reporting
- Build and maintain CRM dashboards tracking pipeline status, account growth, lead conversion, and marketing campaign effectiveness
- Monitor weekly KPIs pipeline health, close rates, revenue by account, and margin contribution and surface insights to leadership
- Analyze customer growth and decline trends to identify where intervention or incentives are needed
- Develop revenue forecasting models and monthly strategic reporting for the President
Sales Strategy & Infrastructure
- Design and build the sales infrastructure the company lacks CRM workflows, pipeline stages, territory frameworks, and pricing strategy
- Manage pricing and product mix analysis; develop volume-based pricing and package offerings to maximize revenue per route and account
- Develop and execute annual revenue growth plans in partnership with marketing and BD teams
- Collaborate with the marketing team to run targeted campaigns and close the feedback loop between lead generation and sales outcomes
Team Leadership
- Directly lead and hold accountable two business development staff members
- Partner with the Head of Strategic Accounts, who manages the top 50 accounts company-wide, to align growth strategy with relationship management
- Coach BD staff on pipeline discipline, CRM usage, and performance standards
- Contribute to building a performance-driven sales culture across the team
Sales & Marketing Alignment
- Bridge marketing efforts with sales execution connect lead generation infrastructure with CRM tracking and follow-up
- Identify which products and accounts are underperforming and coordinate targeted push campaigns with the marketing team
- Provide the sales-side CRM expertise that currently sits outside the marketing team's scope
What They Are Looking For

- Strong CRM and data skills you can build dashboards, interpret pipeline data, and turn numbers into action
- Sales leadership experience you've led people, driven accountability, and built processes in a small or mid-sized company
- Analytically minded comfortable with revenue forecasting, pricing analysis, and performance reporting
- Cross-functional collaborator experience working alongside marketing to improve lead-to-close conversion
Qualifications
- 710+ years of progressive sales leadership experience
- Service-based or B2B background preferred but not required
- Proven track record of driving measurable revenue growth
- Strong financial and forecasting acumen
- Experience building sales infrastructure in small to mid-sized companies
- High accountability leadership style
- Experience in service-based or B2B industries preferred
