Beyond their talent, these classmates share a desire to shape the future through technology, insight, intellectual exploration, and community service.We are an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer, and in keeping with this commitment, we welcome all to apply, including veterans and persons with disabilities.Job Description:Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)Salary: $57,151The Business Manager reports to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management to support Enrollment Management operations.Responsibilities include:Monitor and analyze budget(s) for all units in the divisionOversee all facets of the contractual and procurement process, and ensure units are adhering to campus and state requirementsDevelop knowledge of the procurement process to ensure unit-wide efficienciesDevelop knowledge of travel process and regulationsAssist with training of office on procurement and travel protocolsEvaluate effectiveness of contractual and vendor relationshipsCoordinate and negotiate agreements with vendors and partnersMonitor existing agreements to ensure that renewals are processed in a timely mannerCoordinate payments of invoices in a timely mannerSeek out possible partner relationships to improve organizational effectivenessAssist with the development of strategic allocation of resourcesRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related fieldAt least 2 years of work experience in higher educationExperience developing, evaluating, and presenting budget informationAdvanced working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingDetail-oriented with analytical, organizational, and technology skillsAbility to work independently and complete tasks in a timely mannerPreferred:Experience in a higher education financial environmentExperience with Business Intelligence reporting toolsExperience managing vendor relationships and multi-step procurement processesVisa sponsorship is not available for this positionAdditional Information:Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and verification of degree(s) and credentials.Binghamton University is a tobacco-free campus.Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
