Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLeigh Orthopedic Surgery Center is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Office Specialist to join the team at our successful ASC in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area. Summary: The Medical Business Office Specialist offers critical organizational support to the Business Office team through accounts payable processing, customer service, patient registration, medical records and patient chart maintenance, insurance verifications, maintaining OR scheduling systems, posting surgical cases to the schedule, and assistance with clerical projects.Duties include, but are not limited to:Ensures a positive first impression by exhibiting a consistently positive friendly and open demeanor conducive to greeting clients and visitors to the center.Maintain OR schedules in system including posting surgical cases to the scheduleMatching invoices to packing slips and purchase orders.Manage and maintain accurate records of all accounts payable activities, including scanning invoices into MedNet Oasis EMR. Enters invoices into QuickBooks, ensuring accurate account codes and PO references.Speaks to and approaches others in a friendly and compassionate wayContinuously exhibits personal integrity and professional initiative; understands the high level of honor required in maintaining client relationships.Dresses and acts in a professional manner at all times.Exemplifies our philosophy, culture and values and has a keen understanding of truly stellar service to both external and internal clients.Assists with maintaining the waiting room nourishments and keeps the area clean and tidyScans documents as needed.Reliable, follows through on commitments, does not shrink from new challenges.Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask.Demonstrates a commitment to accuracy by delivering high quality work.Has strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaborativelyManages responsibilities and sets priorities with minimal supervisionFlexible team player who is highly adaptable to change, open to new ideas and demonstrates thoughtful strategic and innovative thinking.Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with others, including physician offices, vendors, insurance companies, patients and others.Demonstrate proactive approach to problem identification and solutions.Works well with others.Acts in a way that demonstrates our responsibility to be reliable and prompt.Ability to handle multiple assignments or pieces of work at one time. Qualifications:High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)Two years' minimum experience clerical medical office experienceProficient typing skills (50 wpm)ASC experience preferredQuickBooks experience preferredMicrosoft Office experience preferredNo "call", no weekends or holidays.
