As a Senior Business Systems Analyst you will support systems applications reports and data for middle and back office operations of Thrivents Asset Management Division. You will join a Scrum Team that includes Business Systems Analysts Application Engineers a Product Owner and a Scrum Master. This is an influential role with high visibility working closely with business partners requiring strong collaboration business analysis ownership and quality assurance acumen to effectively support Mutual Fund Accountings business priorities deliver value and drive impactful change Job Duties and Responsibilities:Designing SolutionsReview analyze & evaluate complex business systems applications processes data and user needsDefine and refine user and functional requirements to guide development workCreate complex and detailed visual representations using diagrams maps and models to enhance analysis understanding and communicationEnsure that solutions align with business objectives and user needsDrive change that is focused on maximizing business value and meeting user needsAccountable for compliance with applicable laws rules and regulationsQuality AssuranceDesign and execute complex test strategies plans and casesIdentify and communicate the root cause of issues and defectsLead efforts to resolve issues and defectsEstablish and maintain effective and efficient testing methods tools and proceduresData ManagementEstablish and maintain high standards of data quality and integrityAct as a Technical Data Steward as part of Asset Managements Data Governance StrategyContribute to maturing data management practicesConduct complex data research and mining to support business decisionsTeam CollaborationActively contribute to product planning and implementationLead developers in defining and decomposing work by creating user stories tasks and acceptance criteriaDrive team development maturity and accountabilityProvide advanced business expertise and analysis to solve problems and remove roadblocksCollaboration with Stakeholders and Business PartnersDrive effective and efficient communication and interactions for your team with stakeholders and business partnersFoster strong relationships with key stakeholdersActively develop a deep understanding of key business systems applications processes and dataWork with subject matter experts to understand capture and communicate complex business and user requirementsAdditional Business SupportParticipate in a weekly on-call rotation to intake diagnose and support resolution of business issuesBuild and support business reportingCreate and execute complex SQL queriesDriving Growth and Building TalentSeek out opportunities to learn new techniques approaches and technology to enhance our productActively identify and implement best practices to drive continuous improvementProvide coaching and training for teammates to promote growth and developmentPartner with Scrum Master to align on team focuses approaches and messaging.Desired Traits:Collaborative - You can win the trust of others and help your team problem solveGrowth Mindset - You are open to new and better ways of doing thingsCritical Thinking - You apply critical thinking to identify understand and manage key detailsAdaptable - You can adjust to changing situations and prioritiesAnalytical - You can gather information and drive to solutionsChange Influencer - You can work with your team and partners to enact changeBig Picture Thinking - You understand the end-to-end process and data flows through the organization and the impacts of decisionsAction Oriented When you see something that needs to be done you take ownership and do itRequired Job Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Business Computer Science Information Systems or a related field6-8 years of experience in the Business System Analyst field or related areaTechnical expertise and advanced understanding across many functional areasAdvanced levels of analysis and independenceAdvanced working knowledge of systems design process and methodology as well as knowledge/use of systems tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and other applications/software as requiredSolid understanding of testing toolsDesired Job Qualifications:Proficient quality assurance/testing experienceProficient experience creating and refining functional and user requirementsProficient Domain Expertise: Accounting Investment/Asset Mgmt industry and related functions and dataExperience working in an agile environment particularly on a Scrum TeamAbility to set standards and best practices and provide training for othersAbility to provide team oversight to maintain a high-quality development processProficient SQL knowledge and experienceExperience with tools:- Jira Xray Miro Visio Microsoft 365 (including PowerBI Excel Power Query Access SharePoint)Additional InformationThis position requires you to work on-site in Appleton WI or Minneapolis MN on Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $89895.00 - $121621.00 per year which factors in various geographic regions.
