Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Job Title: Infant Teacher Assistant (6 weeks to 12 months)Location: Berlin Education Station, 10008 Old Ocean City Blvd. Berlin, MDAbout Us: Berlin Education Station is an MSDE licensed & accredited childcare center serving children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for all children. We are currently seeking passionate and qualified early childhood educators to join our team.Job Description: We are looking for a passionate and qualified early childhood educator to fill openings for Infant and Toddler Teacher Assistants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for instilling values in young children, possess high energy, and be able to handle the demands of infants and toddlers with different personalities and needs.Responsibilities:Guide toddlers through education and development programs.Respond to each child’s needs efficiently and thoughtfully.Display a patient and calm personality with a loving approach to every child.Contribute positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.Build secure relationships with the children.Work closely with management to ensure adherence to guidelines.Report accidents, illnesses, and unusual behavior to the principal, head of department, and parents.Maintain close communication with parents throughout the day as needed.Protect the safety of all children in the center.Supervise children directly at all times.Use positive phrasing with children.Communicate frequently with children throughout the day, using open-ended questions and naming objects and actions.Exhibit behavior management consistent with Berlin Education Station philosophy.Co-play and interact with children during play activities both indoors and on the playground.Treat each child with dignity and respect, recognizing the cultural and socio-economic diversity of the population.Respond to the individual needs and learning styles of children.Respond promptly and appropriately to children in distress.Oversee all mealtime activities, helping children serve themselves and monitoring them closely during meals.Meet with parents to discuss the goals and needs of students in their program.Coordinate with administration to create education plans for the students.Track the academic performance of students for signs of progress.How to Apply: Please send your resume and a cover letter to [email protected] with the subject line "Infant Toddler Teacher Application."Requirements:Qualifications:Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood DevelopmentCollege TranscriptsPrevious work experience in a toddler preschool setting (at least 2 years)CPR/First Aid certified and trainedBasic Health and Safety TrainingAide Orientation CourseADA (The Americans with Disabilities Act) Training Course9 hours Communications Course45 hours in Early Childhood Infant/Toddler CurriculumMedication AdministrationSupporting Breastfeeding in Child Care Practices TrainingA passion for working with toddlersPatient, nurturing, and thoughtfulExcellent communication skillsTeam player
