Buyer

We are seeking a dedicated Buyer responsible for managing HFS Spend within the specified Category. This role involves negotiating prices, establishing terms and conditions, managing lead times, and assisting locations in obtaining purchase order acknowledgements. The Buyer will also develop a deep understanding of supplier manufacturing capabilities, volume capacity, and technical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between suppliers and location planners and buyers, including RM, Components, and OSP.
• Develop a robust and structured supplier onsite contact plan to prioritize HFS and assess performance in production, delivery, and quality.
• Create standardized KPI performance reporting, focusing on on-time delivery, lead times, and capacity.
• Organize and facilitate routine feedback to suppliers regarding their performance status, negotiate, and monitor recovery plans as needed.
• Collaborate with locations to implement second sourcing for critical products, primarily focusing on raw materials.
• Lead, co-lead, or support activities to meet objectives, such as Kaizen workshops, consignment programs, and stocking programs.

Essential Skills

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, and purchase order management.
• Proficiency in supply chain management and SAP.
• Strong skills in MS Excel and ERP systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with buying CNC machined or stamped parts.
• A solid technical experience.
• Coatings experience is beneficial.

This position is onsite in Torrance, ensuring a dynamic and collaborative work setting. The role requires engagement with multiple teams and suppliers, providing an opportunity to actively contribute to the company's purchasing and procurement strategies.

This is a Contract position based out of Torrance, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
