By joining our network, you position yourself for opportunities aligned with your career goals.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs from 3D models, blueprints, and specifications.Interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models to create accurate measurement routines.Execute CMM programs to perform dimensional inspections of manufactured parts.Analyze CMM measurement data, generate detailed inspection reports, and document non-conformances.Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot measurement issues and optimize inspection processes.Maintain CMM equipment through routine calibration checks and basic preventative maintenance.Develop and standardize CMM programming best practices and inspection procedures.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and 3D models.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CMM programming within a manufacturing environment.Solid knowledge of metrology principles and measurement techniques.Experience with various manual measurement equipment and gauges.Bonus QualificationsProficiency with CAD software for model manipulation and fixture design.Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.Familiarity with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners).Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on CMM hardware.Job Titles That Should ApplyCMM Programmer, Metrology Programmer, CMM Technician, Dimensional Metrologist, Precision Measurement Programmer, GD&T Programmer, Quality Metrology Technician, Measurement Systems ProgrammerWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
