The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across DeWitt seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials components and MRO items. Negotiate pricing terms and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality. Generate and manage purchase orders ensuring timely delivery to meet production demands. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning to prevent stockouts or overstock. Identify and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or supply. Manage supplier relationships including performance evaluation and issue resolution. Ensure all procured materials comply with quality standards and specifications. Recommended Qualifications 3-5 years of direct purchasing or procurement experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) for purchasing inventory and supplier management. Demonstrated strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills with a focus on cost reduction. Understanding of manufacturing processes materials and supply chain principles. Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications. Experience with international sourcing import/export regulations and global logistics. Certification in supply chain management (e.g. CPSM) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Advanced proficiency with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle including supplier portal management.
