The Buyer II is responsible for procuring materials, supplies, and services at the best overall value to support operational and business objectives. This role evaluates and qualifies suppliers, analyzes bids, negotiates pricing and terms, and partners closely with the Supply Chain team and parent company to drive cost saving initiatives and support working capital goals.Key ResponsibilitiesManage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure strong performance, service, and reliability.Support the development and execution of procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.Create purchase orders and oversee the timely delivery of goods and services.Review and analyze material cost change reports to identify savings opportunities and address cost increases.Assist the Supply Chain Manager with supplier and market analysis to mitigate risk and identify alternate sources or value enhancing opportunities.Maintain accurate purchase order and supplier data through daily use of ERP reporting tools, including exception reports, late deliveries, and unconfirmed POs.Support Finance in resolving supplier invoice issues and understanding inventory metrics (DSI, RM, FG, WIP).Identify and implement continuous improvement and kaizen initiatives, particularly supplier programs that improve availability while minimizing inventory levels and cost of goods.Track and report supplier performance metrics, including delivery, quality, lead times, and competitiveness.Coordinate externally processed materials with Manufacturing and Sales to ensure customer requirements are met.Serve as the primary point of contact between GGB and potential suppliers based on management defined requirements.Collaborate closely with Sales, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.Implement and support Timken enterprise sourcing agreements within the procurement process.Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience in an industrial environment, including commodity materials, subcontracted goods, and service contracts.Experience with SAP or another planning system.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and cross functional collaboration skills.Ability to participate in or lead cross functional teams to achieve demanding and time sensitive objectives.Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications, preferred.ISM or APICS professional certification, preferred. Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: The yearly compensation for this role is $76,860 - $93,940 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Actual pay may be higher or lower than the posted range.Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.Other Compensation: Includes participation in a short-term incentive program and wellness incentives.
