Kelly Services is partnering with a well-established manufacturer of American-made industrial temperature control equipment to find a Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This organization designs and builds customized heating and cooling systems used in industries including plastics, pharmaceutical, and food processing. Week 1 Monday Thursday: 9-hour days/Friday: 8-hour day Week 2 Monday Thursday: 9-hour days/Friday: Off Enjoy a built-in long weekend every other week.

What You'll Do As the Buyer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring materials are available to support production while maintaining cost, quality, and delivery expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage purchase orders based on inventory levels and production demand using an integrated ERP system
  • Analyze ERP reports to ensure adequate material availability for production schedules
  • Review and process purchase requisitions for components and materials
  • Procure quality products at the most competitive pricing
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery
  • Source and qualify new vendors
  • Negotiate pricing, freight terms, and transportation costs
  • Support flexible manufacturing schedules and changing production priorities
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
  • Establish and improve purchasing practices and procedures
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a custom equipment manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting flexible production schedules
  • Strong ERP/MRP experience; Epicor 10 experience is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Positive attitude and collaborative approach to teamwork
