Key Responsibilities Source evaluate and select qualified suppliers for raw materials components and services. Negotiate pricing terms and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions. Create and manage purchase orders ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications. Collaborate with production and planning to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on quality cost and delivery metrics. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including material shortages and price fluctuations. Conduct market research to identify new suppliers products and industry trends. Recommended Qualifications 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) for procurement and inventory management. Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Ability to interpret technical specifications blueprints and Bills of Material (BOMs). Strong analytical skills for cost analysis market trends and supplier performance. Bonus Qualifications Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Experience with specific ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) beyond basic procurement functions. Technical understanding of manufacturing processes or materials relevant to the industry.
