Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:A resume is required and applicants must meet the qualifications outlined in the job description. Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines Schedule and coordinate purchases and orders between Alexandria Industries and its suppliers Monitor requisitions MRP requirements and purchase orders Partner with departments throughout the company to source and select the best qualified suppliers Develop and solicit bid proposals by category Keep other departments informed of any delays or changes in scheduled arrival times of products or services required for the manufacturing process. Maintain item and vendor files. Accurately maintain information in the purchasing module of our business software and utilize this information for analyzing our suppliers Accomplish all administrative duties associated with the Purchasing Department and all other special delegated duties as needed Confer with internal colleagues and suppliers to determine root cause of quality issues and corrective action needed to prevent reoccurrence. Work with suppliers to develop their corrective action reports in order to prevent errors or problems Assist the Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing procedures to ensure compliance with ISO procedures and the supplier certification process Assist in the decision making process as to which subcontractors Alexandria Industries chooses to partner with Help develop and monitor purchasing procedures within the company. Utilize software systems to analyze data on costs and quality Backup Manager and fellow buyers.OTHER JOB DUTIES (Not considered essential to the job) Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Education:High school diploma or equivalent degreeAssociates or Bachelors degree in business management or related program preferred2. Experience:3 years of purchasing and inventory experience5 years of manufacturing experience3. Other required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Strong computer skills (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint Access)Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong coordination and judgment skillsIntermediate math skillsBasic blueprint reading skillsAbility to provide exceptional leadership and support to team membersAbility to take part in continuous education and trainingFamiliarity with the ISO 9015 requirements in regards to purchasingBENEFITSA.I.
