The Mindful Lemon is seeking a passionate, experienced Clinical Director for a fully on-site role supporting our 6-bed Residential Treatment Center in Castaic, CA.
This role is Monday–Friday, 5 days a week, fully on site in Castaic, with On Call duties. As a leading mental health organization serving over 2,500 clients weekly, we are committed to clinical excellence, mindfulness, and whole-person care across all levels of treatment.

JOB SUMMARY:
The RTC Clinical Director serves as the senior clinical leader on site at the Castaic Residential Treatment Center. This role holds primary responsibility for clinical oversight of the 6-bed RTC, including ensuring full compliance with Community Care Licensing (CCL) regulations and Joint Commission accreditation standards. The RTC Clinical Director provides leadership and direction to clinical and program staff, serves as the designated clinical lead for any crisis situations requiring clinical intervention, and is responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of all clinical services within the residential program. This role requires strong experience in crisis intervention, diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, utilization review, and regulatory compliance.
SCHEDULE:
- 5 weekdays on site at RTC in Castaic, CA
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
DUTIES:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy and crisis management for up to 6 residential clients
- Conduct assessments, intake evaluations, and treatment and discharge planning for residential clients
- Coordinate with prescribing provider to ensure residential clients' medication needs are met
- Manage crisis situations, including risk assessments and safety planning
- Collaborate with Program Director and Behavioral Health Technicians to ensure appropriate engagement in the therapeutic milieu
- Support admissions, discharges, and level-of-care determinations, facilitating Utilization Review with insurance companies and payors as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in EHR
- Facilitate groups and psychoeducation within the residential program
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards, boundaries, and confidentiality
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and trainings
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active California license (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist)
- Minimum 1–2 years experience in residential or high-acuity settings
- Strong experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Experience conducting intakes and diagnostic assessments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
PREFERRED:
- Experience working with or preparing for Joint Commission surveys and accreditation standards
- Experience with Community Care Licensing (CCL) regulations, audits, and compliance requirements
- Prior management or supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting, including oversight of clinical and/or program staff
- Experience serving in leadership roles within Department of Mental Health (DMH) contracted programs or similar behavioral health programs
- Experience providing direct clinical services within a residential treatment setting, preferably in a six-bed residential treatment center (RTC)
- Familiarity with CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care
- Experience with Smart Recovery and/or 12-step models
COMPENSATION:
- $102,000 base salary
