Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Cable Engineer job for our direct client Williamsburg, VA. In this role, you will support the engineering and implementation of submarine cable system installations, including deep-sea operations, vessel loading, route clearance, and post-lay inspection and burial. You will work closely with internal engineering teams, project managers, and external contractors to ensure smooth execution of all installation phases.Cable Engineer Job ResponsibilitiesAssist with the engineering and implementation of deep-sea installations.Work as part of a team on activities related to the installation of submarine cable systems.Support the supervising engineer with vessel loading operations.Write methods of procedure for installation and loading activities.Interface directly with customers and provide technical support as needed.Assist with internal and external training activities.Collaborate with Marine Services engineering groups, Project Management, R&D, the Newington Cable Factory, Cable Ships & Depots, and external contractors.RequirementsIn-depth knowledge of Shore End Installations, Deep-Sea Installations, Vessel Loading, Route Clearance Operations, and Post-Lay Inspection and Burial Operations.Willingness and ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, including extended assignments at shore landing sites or aboard cable-laying vessels.Basic engineering, mathematics, and computer proficiency.Strong charting and mapping skills.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Excellent communication, technical writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics preferred.If you are interested in this Cable Engineer job in Williamsburg, VA, please apply now to be connected with a member of our team.Please note: Applying to this role is an agreement to have your information entered into our database and acknowledgement that a recruiter will reach out to you either by phone, email, and/or text message regarding this and similar job opportunities.Aquinas Consulting is a woman and minority owned company headquartered in Milford, CT that provides Engineering, Information Technology (IT), and Manufacturing staffing solutions throughout the US.
