Cable Technician at TEKsystems

Schedule: Must be open to dayshift, nightshift, and weekends

We are looking for Cable Technicians to support a large-scale data center project across NOVA. This role involves installing, routing, and dressing structured cabling and fiber for ISP environments.

• Interpret Cable Maps & Labels to ensure correct routing and installation
• Rack & Stack network/server equipment according to site standards
• Fiber Installation: pull, route, and stage fiber trunks (including 144 count & 288 count), install patch cords
• Cable Dressing & Pathway Management: dress and secure cabling in basket tray, ladder tray, or fiber runner systems
• Support general structured cabling tasks: Cat5/6 installation, labeling, testing (as needed)

• 6+ months of experience in data center or commercial cabling
• Experience with structured cabling and fiber installation
• Ability to follow technical documentation and labeling standards
• Familiarity with data center or telecom environments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, high quality work
• Must be open to day, night, and weekend shifts

• Experience with rack/stack
• Low-voltage background
• Telecom cabling experience
• Prior ISP/data center work

• Strong opportunity for growth - the PM started as a temp with under 6 months of experience and enjoys helping techs advance
• Consistent work across multiple NOVA sites
• Exposure to large-scale data center environments

• Bill Rate: $34.76-$37.92

This is a Contract position based out of Chantilly, VA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
