Description: Role Overview We are seeking a versatile technician who combines mechanical design expertise with advanced digital skills. This role requires proficiency in CAD design drawing management Shop Router creation and modification Change Management (MOC) tracking and design automation tools. The ideal candidate will be highly computer-savvy capable of working across multiple software platforms collaborating with various departments and leveraging process automation and AI technologies. Key Responsibilities CAD Design Revisions & Drawing Packages o Create and modify detailed 2D/3D models and technical drawings using CAD software. o Manage drawing revisions and prepare complete drawing packages for release. o Update all supporting documentation o Maintain and organize drawing databases and ensure compliance with standards. o Manage drawings and documents within PDMWorks. Shop Router & Change Management (MOC) Processes o Create develop and update Shop Routers in ERP systems. (Syteline) o Create track and close Change Management (MOC) actions. (ETQ Reliance) Design Automation & AI Integration o Utilize automation tools to accelerate design workflows. o Support implementation of AI-driven solutions for CAD and router processes. o Modify and enhance department Automation software when necessary. (DriveWorks) Technical Problem Solving o Troubleshoot issues across CAD ERP and automation platforms. o Create and troubleshoot macros for design tools and process automation. Cross-Department Collaboration & Process Mapping o Work closely with engineering operations quality and IT teams to ensure accurate documentation and smooth process execution. o Assist in mapping and improving department processes for efficiency. Documentation Management o Manage department documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Aids ensuring accuracy and accessibility. o Audit documents and processes Required Software Skills Required: o SolidWorks o Microsoft Office Suite Preferred: o PDMWorks o DriveWorks o Microsoft Power Apps o ETQ Reliance o Infor Syteline (or similar ERP system) o JMP (statistical analysis software) Required Qualifications Associates or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology Computer Science or related field. 3 years experience in CAD design and manufacturing documentation. Excellent computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly. Preferred Skills Experience with AI-assisted design tools and process automation. Knowledge of GD&T manufacturing processes and mechanical systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
