CAD Technician at US Tech Solutions, Inc.

Duration: 12-months contract with Extension Job Description: Primary responsibilities include assisting the area drafting lead with joining architectural/construction/ building data sets (supplied by outside firms or created internally) with process equipment models supplied internally by client engineering organizations into a single data set. Typical tasks include creating 3D building models from existing 2D drawings and creating equipment layout drawings for installation purposes. No actual construction drawings or new design activity will be within scope of this position. Key Responsibilities: Convert 2D AutoCAD drawings into accurate, parametric 3D Revit models for facilities Develop coordinated 3D models from legacy drawings, ensuring geometry, dimensions, and annotations match existing conditions Create equipment layout views and sheets in Revit to support installation, coordination, and review activities Update models based on redlines and feedback from the drafting lead and engineering/development teams Perform field checks as needed to verify dimensions and existing conditions and incorporate those updates into the model Organize and maintain models for efficient reuse, revision, and handoff to project stakeholders Experience: 1 year of professional experience in the architectural and/or mechanical drafting field Required Skills: Revit AutoCAD Navisworks 3D models 2D drawings Equipment layout Education: Candidates should have one of the following (or a similar technical degree with demonstrated drafting skills): A.A.S.
