DUTIESFollow all corporate and job site safety proceduresProvide CADD drafting and design support for engineer, or other staff, for typical civil engineering projects Perform work as assigned from sketches, verbal instructions and notes Work under the direction of the Practice Leader, engineer or Senior CADD TechnicianMay provide quantity estimates or other measurements from CADD files to engineer, or other staff, for cost estimate purposesWork closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct informationSelf-check own work for completeness, accuracy, meeting standards, fits and stack-upsWork from drawings, sketches or scanned images, customer drawings, or government drawings / specificationsUse the accepted drawing standards as guidelinesWorks under general direction, receiving project guidance from an engineerCompiles and interprets various types of data to support design and drafting tasksPrepare and develop details, design plans, and specificationsAssists in maintaining workflow processes and CADD related training.Strive to make each project profitableQUALIFICATIONSEducationHigh school diploma or equivalentTechnical school courses in computer-aided drafting desirableExperienceA minimum of 2 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.Additional RequirementsMust possess:A valid driver's license or reliable transportation to and from the workplaceThe ability to read, write and perform basic mathThe ability to comfortably communicate with the publicBasic computer skills (MS Office), including the ability to learn various types of company / client softwareWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
