We strive to be the preferred provider of comprehensive vocational rehabilitation for Virginians with Disabilities.Campus Life Associate.Job Duties:Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is seeking a Campus Life Associate to support our mission of helping individuals with disabilities achieve successful employment and greater independence. The Campus Life Associate is responsible for delivering engaging programs classes and experiences that promote personal growth social development and independent living skills for students enrolled in WWRC programs.Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and implement dormitory-based programming for youth and/or adults with disabilities. Create and maintain a safe supportive living and learning residential environment within an educational and rehabilitative framework. Promote positive self-esteem and the development of social and independent living skills. Provide First Aid/CPR and administer emergency medications; supervise students taking over the counter (OTC) medications. Document direct services and communicate observations and progress with team members. Maintain daily communication with staff to ensure continuity of student programming and support learning goals. Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner including behavioral observations findings and recommendations from residential assessments. Participate in assigned teams and committees representing WWRC professionally and effectively.This position requires working various shifts including 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM or 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.Minimum Qualifications:KSAs and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work: Knowledge of: characteristics of adolescent and adult behaviors and positive intervention techniques; characteristics of diverse disabilities and implications for residential programming; needs of youth with disabilities and their families in the transition from school-to-work; and group dynamics confidentiality and boundary issues safety awareness in a residential/dormitory setting recreation hall environment for coverage as needed good basic computer skills. Demonstrated skills in: application of positive intervention strategies to challenging behaviors which may be presented in a residential setting; use of appropriate behavioral responses in emergency situations; client-focused advocacy; and effective oral and written communication; assessing individual and group needs and ability to plan and implement programs to meet those needs some knowledge and skill in providing recreational activities in a residential environment. Demonstrated abilities to: anticipate and respond immediately to individual and group crisis/emergency situations; enforce disciplinary measures while retaining respect and confidence from participants and /WWRC staff; lead recreational and independent living activities; balance workload responsibilities with competing organizational priorities; and complete work assignments both independently and as an effective team member. Education Experience Licensure Certification Required for Entry into Position: Valid VA Drivers License requiredExperience in a residential educational therapeutic residential recreational or rehabilitation setting working with students with disabilities.Additional Considerations:Training in principles and techniques of residential programming and/or behavior intervention techniques.Fitness Instruction Certification Lifeguarding Coaching (team or individual) certification.Special Instructions:This has been designated a sensitive position under Va.
