Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary: Performs safety and security duties to safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and property at the Children’s Mercy-Camber hospital. Assists the receptionist in monitoring and authorizing the entrance and departure of patients, visitors, and staff. Escorts individuals to specified locations and assists with storing personal items. Patrols the grounds and parking areas for violations and safety concerns. Resolves issues with trespassers/intruders and helps deescalate situations in the lobby, visit, and intake areas.This is a part-time position working every Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 7 PM.Education: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: Two years of verifiable employment history related to this position, such as law enforcement, security guard, corrections, or specific military service.Certification/Licensure:At least 21 years oldValid Drivers LicenseValid Auto InsurancePreferred Experience/Skills: Requires Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Patrols buildings and grounds, responds to emergency situations, conducts inspections for fire, safety, and security risks, and recommends corrective action.Responds to emergency assistance calls and notifies the appropriate emergency personnel as needed. Assists with building evacuations and crowd and traffic control.Acts in response to suspicious persons and situations, safety hazards, and unusual or illegal activity on hospital property or in hospital vehicles.Assists the Facilities Manager in conducting and documenting fire, tornado, and safety drills. Provides training on fire prevention, the proper use of fire suppression equipment, and building evacuation procedures.
