Carpenter: Drywall - 1st Shift at Award Staffing

About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Carpenter: Drywall
• Pay Rate Range: $18.00-$25.00/hr
• Location: Anoka, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with mandatory overtime.
• Position Type: Temp to Hire

Requirements and Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience in residential or commercial drywalling or other carpentry specialization.
• OR 0 years experience with a desire to learn the trade.
• Expert use of T-squares, utility knives, power drivers, stilts, and taping tools.
• Ability to lift heavy sheets (up to 50lbs), climb ladders, and work overhead for extended periods.
• A sharp eye for identifying imperfections, bubbles, or uneven seams before the paint goes on.
• High School or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Installation: Measure, cut, and hang drywall sheets wood studs with precision.
• Taping & Mudding: Apply paper or mesh tape over joints and use various coats of joint compound to create smooth transitions.
• Sanding: Perform dust-conscious sanding to achieve the Level of Finish specified.
• Patching & Repair: Fix cracks, holes, and water damage in existing structures to match the original texture.
• Site Prep: Protect floors and furniture with drop cloths and ensure a clean workspace upon completion.
