Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year A bit about us: A well established commercial construction contractor in the Greater Chicagoland area is seeking an experienced Carpentry Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts. This role focuses on estimating commercial interior projects including metal framing, drywall, acoustical and specialty ceilings, rough carpentry, and doors and frames. Why join us? Offers include: Base salary range: $90,000 - $130,000, depending on experience Benefits package including health, vision, and dental Performance based bonuses 401K with company match Company laptop, phone, and necessary equipment Stable backlog and long term workload Collaborative, team oriented work environment Opportunity to estimate complex, high profile commercial projects Job Details Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial carpentry scopes, including: Metal framing and drywall Acoustical and specialty ceilings Rough carpentry Doors, frames, and related hardware Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications Review bid documents, addenda, and scope requirements Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing when applicable Collaborate with project managers and operations staff during preconstruction Identify scope gaps, risk items, and value engineering opportunities Support bid submissions and assist with project handoff after award Qualifications 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial carpentry or interior construction Strong working knowledge of: Metal framing and drywall systems Acoustical and specialty ceilings Commercial carpentry scopes Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings Experience estimating union labor preferred Proficiency with estimating and takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, OST, Procore, or similar Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines Clear communication and collaboration skills Interested in hearing more?
