1st Choice is seeking a Coordinated Assessment System CAS Assessor to support a statewide initiative focused on ensuring adults with IDD receive the services and support they need to thrive. In this role, you will conduct person centered assessments using the CAS tool to help guide the development of individualized care and support plans.

Bilingual candidates English Spanish are strongly preferred.

TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT
- Travel between assessment locations will be reimbursed. This includes mileage for personal vehicle use. What You’ll Do: Conduct in-person CAS assessments in homes and community-based settings.
- Travel throughout the assigned region to meet with individuals, families, and caregivers.
- Use a person-centered approach to assess needs, strengths, and support requirements.
- Interview caregivers, service providers, and other stakeholders to gather accurate information.
- Review relevant records and incorporate multiple data sources to support assessment coding.
- Enter data into state-mandated systems and ensure timely, accurate documentation.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards as outlined by the program.
- Coordinate interpreter services as needed for non-English/Spanish-speaking participants.
What You Need:
Must have own car for daily travel between assessment locations
Public transportation and ridesharing are not permitted
- Education:Required: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of direct experience working with adults with IDD (required)
- Experience conducting assessments and prior CAS experience (preferred)
- Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, email, and web-based systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Other Requirements: Valid NYS Driver’s License or NYS ID card
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region
