Membership SummaryUChicago CASE (Senior) Scientists/Scholars-at-Large will be the default appointment for scientists or scholars without existing ties with a specific unit. A UChicago CASE Scientist/Scholar-at-Large will have the following privileges:Access to UChicago facilities and the libraryServe as a PI or co-investigator on grant applications at the UniversityCharge their time to grants at the University without a subcontractPurchase equipment via the University for use on University-administered grantsHire and supervise staff at the UniversityThe Office of Research and National Laboratories (RNL) will provide grant administration and HR support for (Senior) Scientists-at-Large and will oversee the reimbursement process with the home institution if applicable.---Application InstructionsTo be accepted into UChicago CASE applicants must be approved by the University and the home institution.An application for UChicago CASE membership should include the applicants rationale for seeking membership a description of the proposed research or scholarly activities to be undertaken a University unit where collaborations currently exist or will be established (if applicable) and a list of existing or possible faculty collaborators a current CV and a memo of support from the applicants cognizant supervisor of the home addition the applicant must follow any internal process established at the home institution for potential UChicago CASE membership.
