Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESWill be familiar with USN/USAF technical publications; will be capable of conducting on-the-job training and maintenance of personnel seat/cockpit safety checkout training records and will be experienced and qualified in the removal and replacement of ejection seats and explosive devices.Responsible for all egress system on and off equipment maintenance on Adversary F-5 aircraft.Removes transports inspects repairs and reinstalls ejection seats.Inspects repairs and cleans seat harnesses.Inventories stores removes and replaces seat CAD/PAD explosive items.Will also be experienced and qualified in the rigging of explosive linkages/devices applicable to seats and canopy.Will be able to perform flow checks on egress systems; will have experience in the fitting and rigging of aircraft canopy canopy drive and locking mechanisms.Will be a graduate of a specialty course on the applicable ejection seat.Must have in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives.Use schematics drawings charts and other applicable publications to troubleshoot repair test and modify assigned systems.Performs aircraft inventory acceptance and transfer inspections.Must be able to work day shift night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team or detachment as required.Will have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.Performs aircraft inventory acceptance and transfer inspections.Be capable of becoming Plane Captain certified when directed my management.Perform other tasks as directed by management.Provides technical assistance guidance and instruction as required.Maintains and/or completes required records and applicable maintenance formsBecome CDI/CDQAR certified as directed by management to perform collateral duty inspection assignmentsPerforms daily duties normally associated with this specialty.Practice good housekeeping tool control FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times.Assists in aircraft/equipment movement and flight line foreign object prevention walks.Operates SE flight line vehicles and other support equipment as required.Qualified to perform corrosion detection treatment prevention and documentation per customer/management instructions/directions on aircraft and associated equipment.Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft forms and VIDS/MAF and NALCOMIS/OOMA.Will have knowledge of and understand basic supply procedures. Assist with ordering parts tools materials and equipment as required.Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract facilities and job assignment.Comply with Company and facility Hazardous Waste Programs.Keeps shop area clean and participate in daily hanger cleanupsMay be required to perform Leadman duties when designated and authorized.QUALIFICATION STANDARDSAircraft mechanic AME will have two years experience in ejection seat maintenance to include two recent years of repairing egress system experience.The Egress Specialist must be a graduate of a military or factory equivalent ejection seat course of their specific aircraft maintenance occupational field. Must have experience in corrosion detection treatment and prevention.Must have successfully completed approved course or training as required by Company State/Local Govt DOD regulation/Instruction.Personnel shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned i.e. O or I level.The mechanic will be capable of cross-training into or assisting other specialties as directed by management. All mechanics must be capable of becoming Plane Captain certified when directed by management IAW a Government approved certification program for each TMS of aircraft.Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent.Will have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.Must become qualified and certified in explosives handling personnel qualification and certification program in ac-accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 8023.3 series.Must be customer oriented.Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent.Must read write speak and understand EnglishPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSPhysical Demands:This classification is usually accomplished in a shop/hanger/outdoor flight line-like environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with on equipment/aircraft activities. Typical physical activities include climbing standing bending pushing kneeling stretching walking and working in tiring uncomfortable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.Work Environment:The diversity of work conditions may range an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature wind rain etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail.
