This role is responsible for maintaining clean safe and welcoming campus facilities through routine and specialized custodial work minor maintenance tasks and event support.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacility Cleaning and SanitationClean interior and exterior spaces including restrooms offices conference rooms public lounges food service areas landings stairwells elevators and corridors.Remove trash from all indoor areas and outdoor receptacles.Clean and sanitize restroom floors sinks counters mirrors walls partitions and toilets.Clean and polish stainless steel surfaces including drinking fountains.Replenish paper towels toilet paper and soap.Vacuum sweep wet-mop and dry-mop public areas.Wash windows walls light fixtures and light switch plates.Floor and Upholstery CareShampoo carpets and upholstery.Buff tile floors using scrubbing and buffing machines.Strip and wax hard-surface floors.Furniture and Event SupportSet up reorganize or remove furniture as directed by work orders or supervisor.Set up and take down tables chairs tents and equipment for events meetings and campus functions.Operational and Maintenance SupportOperate campus vehicles to transport cleaning supplies and equipment.Perform minor maintenance and repairs; assist the maintenance team as needed.Assist with snow and ice removal when required.Additional ResponsibilitiesCoordinate assign monitor inspect and assist staff with non-routine cleaning or maintenance projects.Maintain building security and ensure doors are locked after completing tasks.Use a personal computer to respond to email and complete work orders leave requests and timesheets.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Substitutions Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsResidency Requirement:This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.Class Code & Classification Description:D8B1TXCUSTODIAN IMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Experience Only:Six (6) months of custodial experience as the primary function of the job. Must have excellent customer service skills in order to work with internal and external customers. Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor. Knowledge/experience in proper methods to strip and re-wax hard surface flooring. Knowledge of custodial chemicals and their use. Proper sanitation procedures for restrooms. Experience in hard floor and carpet maintenance. Experience operating floor scrubbers carpet extractors and floor buffers. Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual contributor; self motivated. Prior experience operating a computer.
