Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWork alongside the Head Teacher to create and implement meaningful learning experiences for children.Maintain a working knowledge of:Head Start Performance StandardsODE Early Learning and Development StandardsHead Start domainsAgency curriculumOrganizational policies and proceduresPositions Available:Full-Year Full-TimePart-year Full-Time (August-May)Locations: Fairborn, Ohio - Xenia, Ohio - Troy, OhioCompensation:$15.29 - $21.87 hourlyResponsibilities:Uphold the agency’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values, and follow all organizational and program policiesPartner with the Head Teacher in daily classroom operations, supporting both children and families. Duties include preparing and cleaning the learning environment and assisting with all parts of the daily routineMaintain a safe, sanitary, and well-organized learning space by actively supervising children at all timesDemonstrate understanding of the agency’s chosen curriculum, the social-emotional framework, the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, and the ODE Early Learning Development StandardsAssist in completing developmental screenings for all children within required timelinesObserve and record each child’s developmental growth using the agency’s ongoing assessment toolsWork with the Head Teacher to conduct home visits and parent–teacher conferencesAccurately complete CACFP Meal Counts at the point of service during every mealFinish all required Ohio Approved trainings within designated deadlines and participate in all agency-required trainingsSupport the development of at-home in-kind activities for each child using the agency’s digital in-kind systemQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredCDA or equivalent preferredIf not already obtained, must agree to enroll in a CORS-approved and paid accredited CDA program and complete the CDA within two years of the start dateAlternatively, must be continuously enrolled in an approved Early Childhood Education degree programAssociate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferredAbout CompanyJoin Our Mission at CORS!Since 1974, the Council on Rural Services (CORS) has been dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening communities through education, support, and development opportunities.We’re a non-profit organization providing Head Start (ages 3–5), Early Head Start (ages 0–3), and Youth Development Services across 9 counties in West Central Ohio — and we’re growing!With a passionate team of 250 employees, we’re looking for compassionate, motivated individuals who want to make a difference every day.Why You’ll Love Working With Us:Generous annual, sick, and holiday leaveStudent Loan Forgiveness eligibilityPaid education and professional development opportunitiesAffordable, comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and 401(k)A supportive, mission-driven team that values your impactAll positions require a background check, drug test, and physical.If you’re ready to help build brighter futures and stronger communities — apply today
