Do you have a CRCST or sterilization certification background Are you looking for meaningful work great benefits and a place to belong Our Central Supply Specialist role is a unique position that combines inventorying and sterilization of our surgical equipment for our surgical team. Saving lives through organ and tissue donation is the mission uniting our employees and driving the work we do every day.As a Central Supply Specialist (CSS) you play a critical role in our mission to Save and Heal Lives. The CSS is responsible for inventory in all of NEDs offices including Waltham Westbrook and Vernon CT. Fulltime Days - 40 hours a week with a fluctuating schedule to cover NEDS 24/7 operations. Weekend and Holiday rotation required. Day shift Monday - Friday 8:30am 5:00pmEvery 3rd week Monday Tuesday Wednesday (Th/Friday days off) and then working Sat / Sun for 40 hours.The following week 4 shifts at 10 hour day shifts 6:30am -5:00pm for 40 hours. Administrative ResponsibilitiesDaily data entry of supply inventory using NEDS online system BTMMaintains relationships with internal and external customers.Daily monitoring of all clinical equipment (freezers sterilizer washers refrigerators) and completes required documentation when required.Responsible for tissue storage supply storage sterilization with AATB standards and NEDS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Completes required documentation through data entry into NEDSs on-line systems including but not limited to SharePoint BTM TrueNorth and ADP.At the direction of the Manager conducts on the job training with new hires.Clinical Responsibilities:Physically receives all deliveries to NEDS Waltham facility.Responsible for ordering re-stocking rotating and reconciling inventory par levels in all locations for clinical readiness.Cleans decontaminates and sterilizes instrument recovery kits per NEDS SOPs.Required travel to satellite offices via NEDSs to deliver stock rotate and reconcile supplies using the inventory management system. Transport recovered tissue via NEDSs vehicle from satellite offices to Waltham.Responsible for shipping recovered tissue to processors as necessary.Maintains cleanliness of clinical areas including satellite offices per NEDS SOPs.Cleans Kidney pumps for clinical readiness.Responsible for arranging for the disposal of all NEDS medical waste.Maintains linen inventory for clinical activity.Performs other duties as assigned.Training:Coaches/mentors new Central Supply Coordinators as they train and develop.Timely completion of all initial and annual trainings via TalentEd.Attend all departmental and organizational meetingsAdditional responsibilities include shelving and rotating stock cleaning and sterilization of instrument kits as well as cleaning of the clinical areas per NEDS standards and arranging for the disposal of all NEDS medical waste.Qualifications : Previous experience in a hospital or medical field in central processing inventory control or database entry preferredStrong organizational skills and attention to detail requiredBasic computer skills in Word Excel Outlook and ability to learn NEDSs internal systems including but not limited to True North.Must be able to physically move and manipulate supplies up to 100 poundsThis position requires the ability to work weekends mandatory overtime and occasional travel to perform Central Processing Coordinator functions at NEDS satellite offices in ME and CTEducation and Experience LEVEL IHigh school diplomaMust hold a valid state drivers licenseCandidates will be required to travel by personal vehicle to meet the duties and responsibilities of this position. Must maintain the requirements of an eligible driver including being at least 21 years old maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and required minimum personal automobile insurance per NEDS automobile policy.Once you have completed all required orientation the career path for this role also includes growth to a Level II which will have even more responsibilities:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE LEVEL IIA minimum of 1 years experience in the Level I role or previous experience in a hospital or medical field with sterilization experience.Meets all requirements of Level I Central Supply Specialist.Perform all duties of a Level I Central Supply Specialist.Maintain relationships with instrument and sterilization asset vendors.Oversee the washer sterilizer asset management including scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance.Be responsible for instrument sterilization and asset documentation in accordance with AATB and NEDS standards.CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS LEVEL IICRCST or sterilization certification equivalent.Required to travel by NEDS authorized vehicles to meet the duties and responsibilities of this position.What Youll Be a Part Of:You will be part of a team that supports the NEDS mission to Save and Heal Lives through the gift of Organ and Tissue Donation.
