Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant Certified (CMA) provides superior patient care and performs both clinical and administrative tasks that support patients in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and/or advanced practice provider.

Essential Functions

1. Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

2. Support patient visits by performing chart prep and scrub, greeting patients, escorting patients to exam room to take vital signs, and relaying other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the visit and treatment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.

Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree.
