JOB DESCRIPTION

Equity Staffing Group is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join a growing healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with patients while supporting both clinical and administrative operations in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Candidates with at least one year of Medical Assistant experience are preferred; however, motivated new graduates with the required certification are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and support to providers during patient visits
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and other required information
  • Assist clinicians during examinations and sensitive procedures
  • Answer incoming patient calls and place outbound calls as needed
  • Address patient questions and concerns in person and over the phone
  • Complete patient-related tasks and follow-up requests within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Coordinate preventive health screenings and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Perform outreach activities, including OCRA, Quality, and Tuck-In calls, to support high-risk patient populations
  • Assist in identifying patients who may require additional services following hospital admissions or re-admissions
  • Support care coordination efforts to ensure patients receive appropriate healthcare services
  • Work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams
  • Provide support in both front-office and back-office functions as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies


Required Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred; new graduates will be considered
  • Strong understanding of patient care and clinical workflows
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Professional demeanor with a patient-first approach


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record
  • Experience with patient outreach, care coordination, or population health initiatives


Work Environment

  • Outpatient healthcare setting
  • Opportunity to support both front-office and clinical back-office operations
  • Travel is only required when reporting to a different assigned clinic location
  • No travel between locations during the workday
  • No in-home patient care responsibilities
