JOB DESCRIPTION
Medical Assistant - Surgeons Clinics (Full Time)
The Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned surgical clinic or physician office. This role supports patient care delivery while maintaining efficient clinic operations in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent - required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent - required.
Licensure / Certification: Active CCMA, CMA, or RMA - required. Basic Life Support (BLS) - required (must obtain within 60 days of hire).
Required Skills & Abilities: Strong critical-thinking skills and decisive judgment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Professional, patient-focused demeanor.
Essential Functions: Under the supervision of a physician or nurse, assists with patient assessments and treatments. Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors patient condition and communicates changes promptly to clinical staff. Accurately documents patient care and clinical activities. Maintains medical equipment and supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting. Ensures examination rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient visits. Performs administrative and clerical duties as assigned, including reception, scheduling, filing, data entry, and patient registration.
Non-Essential Functions: Performs other duties as assigned to support clinic and surgical operations.
