Under the supervision of medical oncology providers/nurses and in collaboration with clinic team members provide the highest quality of care and treatment for all patients. Assist providers with patient care and procedures. Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic. May be responsible for telephone communication with patients including communication of test results surgery schedules procedures and providing appropriate counsel and follow-up under the direction of a designated supervisor. Utilize an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to update and/or access patient information as appropriate. This lead role requires close collaboration and synergetic partnerships with the leadership team and providers. This role will serve as a resource for the Oncology MA team responsible for evaluating competency and training of all new hires. Must work collaboratively with leadership in the orientation of new staff and staff scheduling. Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic as well as facilitate quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include ordering of clinical supplies as needed.QualificationsEqual to completion of four years of high school or equivalent plus specialized courses and training.National third-party certification such as AMCA AAMA AMT CCMA (NHA certification) or NCMA (NCCT certification) is required at the time of hire for new hires or by March 31 2017 for current SPG/SHG Medical Assistants.Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent medical office practice experience is required.BLS certification is also required.Prior experience in using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or health-related computer software is preferred.One (1) year of medical assistance work experience is preferred.Other certifications based on practice specialty may be preferred.Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.Pay RangeUSD $24.03 - USD $29.70 /Hr.
