JOB DESCRIPTION

AM and PM shift : 12 hours

Required: 2+ years of acute (hospital) care experience, EPIC experience required.

Cerificates Required: MA CNA, BLS


JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) participates in the delivery of patient care. The role encompasses the provision of direct clinical and support services to patients and families across the health care continuum, functioning as an effective member of the health care team by contributing to the efficient operation of the patient care unit, and accountability for fiscally sound, quality patient/family clinical outcomes.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

- Provides delegated patient care under RN supervision, maintaining clear, timely communication and reporting changes in patient condition.

- Assists the IV team with procedures (PICC, midline, PIVs), including sterile setup, dressing changes, documentation, and equipment care.

- Supports patient comfort, flow, and communication using professional standards (AIDET), responding to call lights, pages, and phone calls.

- Maintains accurate documentation, required certifications, competencies, and compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

- Contributes to a safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment, including handoffs, orientation of staff, and adaptability to unit needs.

- Ensures a clean, organized, and well-stocked unit environment by managing supplies, equipment, cleaning, and waste disposal.
