Empath Health is currently seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant PRN to to join our interdisciplinary PACE team in Tampa FL. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant assists in the provision of occupational therapy services to participants of Suncoast PACE. This is more than a jobits a mission.What is PACEThe Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is a unique care model designed to help older adults remain independent and safe in their own homes. Relationship-Based Care with Real Impact: Build lasting connections with participants supporting their independence and mobilitythis is a meaningful alternative to inpatient rehab or traditional outpatient care. Team-Driven Preventive Focus: Collaborate with physicians nurses social workers and other clinicians in a true interdisciplinary care model focused on prevention and holistic well-being.What Youll DoImplements treatment programs designed by the OT and collaborates with the OT to identify and implement measurable functional outcomes.Able to implement routine standardized assessments under the direction of the supervising OT.Tracks the need for participant reassessment reports changes in participant status to the supervising OT and contributes to the reassessment process.Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist and/or Rehab Supervisor instruct other staff and/or caregivers on follow-through programs to be carried out by individuals other than the OT.Utilize appropriate safety measures when providing care to participants or when performing other job duties.Participates in meetings as directed by the Rehab Supervisor and/or OT.Track Report and assist with the issuance of durable medical equipment (DME).Performs minor equipment and wheelchair repairs as directed.Provide training on body mechanics and the use of assistive/adaptive devices and mechanical lift to staff participants and caregivers as needed.Counsels and instructs participants and families in the home program in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist and IDT.Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to adult and geriatric participants.Accepts personal responsibility for professional practice by adhering to state and federal regulations Standards of Practice and established policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.Why Join Empath HealthEarn Competitive Pay: Your skills and contributions are recognized and rewarded.Grow Your Career: CEU support tuition reimbursement and advancement opportunities.Make a Difference: Join a mission-driven team dedicated to kindness compassion and Full Life Care for All.What Youll NeedMust be licensed registered or certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the State of Florida and meet the following requirements:Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum approved by State of Florida. If educated outside the United States or trained in the United States military graduated from an education program determined to be substantially equivalent to occupational therapy assistant entry level education in the United States by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) andPassed the National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.At least 1 year of clinical experience as a COTA under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
