JOB DESCRIPTION

Certified Payroll Compliance Administrator

A commercial construction company with 90 years of expertise in gas, power, airport fueling, and telecom construction solutions is seeking a Certified Payroll Compliance Specialist to join their payroll team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor contractor, subcontractor, and sub-tier activity during construction projects to ensure compliance with Federal Labor Standards Provisions, including prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA), State Labor Law requirements, California Labor Code, HUD Section 3 Requirements, and/or Countywide Local & Targeted Worker Hire Program.
  • Ensure that all compliance documents from contractors are correctly and timely processed and submitted to the appropriate entities, including local and federal agencies when applicable.
  • Issue requests for missing and revised documentation and correspond internally and externally to ensure compliance.
  • Reconcile and report weekly certified payroll reports and other related documentation.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Work with various labor compliance software systems to enter, review, and approve certified payroll and other payroll documents.
  • Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables, check figures, postings, and documents for internal and external audits as needed.
  • Provide overall support to the Payroll Manager and Assistant Payroll Manager as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Certified payroll expertise.
  • Experience in payroll processing and compliance.
  • Proficient in data entry and payroll tax deduction.
  • Understanding of prevailing wage, fringes, and benefits administration.
  • Ability to manage payroll reports, records, and information.
  • Knowledge of labor law, labor agreements, and union employee management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in certified payroll.
  • Experience with LCP Tracker or DIR Reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel.

Work Environment

The position requires working on-site 5 days per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benicia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.63/hr.
