Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOhio Community Health Recovery Centers: Cincinnati OHPeer Recovery Support Specialist (OH PRS Certificate Required)MUST HAVE A PRS CERTIFICATION FROM THE STATE OF OHIO**THIS IS A CONTRACTED HOURLY POSITION**Must have a valid driver's license!Job DescriptionThe Peer Recovery Supporter position provides counseling assistance to chemically abusing or dependent persons. The facilitator collaborates with behavioral health team members in individual treatment plan by applying specialized knowledge of human development and behaviors and social, economic and cultural systems in directly assisting individuals and groups to improve or restore their capacity for social functioning, including counseling and the use of psychosocial interventions and social psychotherapy.· Maintain project logs, reports, and records in appropriate files and databases.· Provide recovery education to individuals for every stage of change from pre-contemplation to sustained recovery maintenance.· Meet with clients individually for hour long PRS sessions (when and where applicable) to help engagement in Recovery, Resiliency, and Wellness as defined by the ORC definition of Peer Recovery Support.· Provide a model for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible, in a positive and professional manner.· Assist individuals to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths and areas of improvement regarding recovery as well as developing their own plan for progressing recovery.· Promote self-advocacy by assisting individuals in expressing their voice, needs, goals and objectives.· Actively identify and support links to community resources that support the individual's goals and interests.· Link individuals to appropriate professional resources including, but not limited to, case managers, counselors, physicians, nurse practitioners, and/or psychiatrist.· Provide encouragement for opportunities to get involved in community-based activities.· Identify barriers to full participation in community resources and developing strategies to overcome those barriers.· Communicate needs of patient to the appropriate staff member, and report weekly to Vice President/Clinical Director on progress of clients seen.The Peer Recovery Supporter's role is to provide hope and support for others in recovery froma substance use disorder. They will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator torecovering individuals to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. The PeerRecovery Supporter must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences andto develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.Peer Recovery Supporter Job QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter; CDCA or higher preferredMust have a valid driver's license and meet requirements to be added to company's insurance policy. This position is contingent on approval for insurance coverage.Overview- Expected billing productivity is 23 hours of billable services- Expected to transport or assist with transportsSchedules(1) 2nd shift is the priority(2) 1st shift PRS(3) All other hired peers for 2nd shift and weekendsO7-Site @ Next Step RecoverySunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday SaturdayDay shiftEvening shiftMonday to FridayExperience:Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: In person
