The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of addiction and recovery processes, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting individuals struggling with substance abuse issues, helping them navigate their recovery journey while contributing to our mission of fostering healthy communities.ResponsibilitiesDeliver Substance Use Disorder treatment under clinical supervisionConducts face-to-face ASAM multidimensional assessment upon admission to determine and document a DSM5/ICD-10 diagnosis and ASAM Level of Care placement decision collaboratively with the Clinical DirectorCreates initial Individualized Service Plan (ISP) within 24 hours of multidimensional assessment and Comprehensive Individual Service Plan (ISP) within 14 calendar days of admissionFacilitate small group and educational group therapy sessionsCoordinate patient care with clinical teamEnsure and maintain the confidentiality and safekeeping of all client records and information related to treatmentMaintain professionalism in workplace including professional boundaries and codes of ethicsParticipate in staff meetings and supervision meetings as scheduledEnsure all agency policies and procedures as they pertain to client’s engagement in treatment are upheldDevelop effective working relations and cooperate with clinical team throughout the entire case management processProvide continuity of care as evidenced by documentation of and communication with collaborative providers and agenciesAct as client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situationsPerform other duties as requestedQualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of addiction and recovery processes, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disordersCandidates should have a background in behavioral health, social work, or a related fieldA strong understanding of addiction treatment modalities and the ability to engage effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds is essentialCandidates must demonstrate empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills while fostering a nonjudgmental atmosphere conducive to recoveryMust hold a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or be registered as a CSAC-Supervisee or CSAC-Assistant with the Virginia Board of CounselingOn-site clinical supervision is available for CSAC-Supervisees and CSAC-Assistants pursuing full certificationStrong understanding of addiction recovery, relapse prevention, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewingPreferred ExperienceCandidates should have a background in behavioral health, social work, or a related field.
