Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $25 - $35Lightbeam Solutions is hiring a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) to join our Clinical Services team. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide direct counseling and recovery support to individuals impacted by substance use disorders in our community.About the RoleThe CSAC will deliver individual and group counseling, facilitate treatment planning, and support relapse prevention strategies. This position works under the supervision of a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Health Professions, Medicaid, and DBHDS standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group counseling sessions to clients with substance use and co-occurring disordersComplete assessments, intake forms, and treatment plans in compliance with regulationsMaintain accurate and confidential documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Support client recovery through relapse prevention strategies and education for clients and familiesCollaborate with supervisors, case managers, and community providers to coordinate careParticipate in supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing trainingMinimum Requirements:Active certification as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) by the Virginia Board of CounselingHigh school diploma or equivalent (associates or bachelors degree in Human Services, Psychology, or Social Work preferred)At least 2 years experience in counseling individuals with substance use disordersKnowledge of substance use treatment models and recovery principlesStrong organizational and documentation skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in outpatient, community-based, or integrated care settingsFamiliarity with electronic health record (EHR) systemsCrisis intervention training or certificationBilingual (English/Spanish)Why Join Lightbeam Solutions?Be part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to recovery and community wellnessGain hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative clinical teamOpportunities for professional growth and continuing education
