We build futures.As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), youll be at the forefront of transforming lives through evidence-based care, trauma-informed practice, and person-centered planning. Under the guidance of a licensed clinical supervisor, youll support individuals battling substance use disorders on their path to stability and success.What Youll DoConduct initial screenings, ASAM assessments, and substance use evaluations using DSM-5Develop individualized service plans in partnership with clients and clinical teamsDeliver group and individual counseling sessions using CBT, MI, and trauma-informed approachesCoordinate referrals for housing, employment, healthcare, and legal servicesMonitor participation and recovery progress, and document outcomes with precision and careRespond to crises with empathy and professionalismensuring safety and dignityUphold the highest standards of ethical, clinical, and regulatory complianceWhat You BringCredentialed as a CSAC in Virginia (required)Bachelors degree in a human services field + 3 years of direct experience in SUD treatmentDeep understanding of substance use recovery models, risk management, and relapse preventionStrong knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and trauma-informed care practicesProven skills in case management, documentation, and interagency collaborationA passion for working with diverse communities and creating inclusive spaces for healingSalary commensurate with experienceKey CompetenciesAttention to detail, sound judgment, and critical thinkingCommunication excellence and compassionate engagementTime management and adaptability in fast-paced clinical environmentsEthical integrity and a commitment to service excellenceAdditional RequirementsValid Virginia drivers license and acceptable driving recordSatisfactory background check and child protective services clearanceOIG Exclusion List screening clearanceBe the DifferenceThis isnt just a jobits a calling.
