JOB DESCRIPTION

Pride Health is hiring a Certified Surgical Tech to support our client’s medical facility based in New York, NY 10019. This is an 8-week assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!


Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech

Location: New York, NY 10019

W2 Pay (Local): $55/hr - $62/hr

Schedule: Night shift, 11:00 PM – 7:15 AM, 5 days per week

Start date: 04/21/2026


Role Overview:

Assist surgeons and nurses in the operating room by preparing sterile instruments, maintaining aseptic conditions, and supporting surgical procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse.


Key Responsibilities:

Perform scrub duties including surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving.

Set up sterile instrument tables and surgical supplies based on procedure type.

Assist surgeons by anticipating instruments, sutures, sponges, and equipment needs.

Maintain aseptic technique and monitor the sterile field.

Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with circulating nurse.

Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfers.

Handle and label medications and surgical specimens according to policy.

Assist with room cleanup, equipment sterilization, and preparation for next procedure.

Support operating room workflow and maintain organized sterile storage areas.


Requirements:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification – required

Completion of a CST training program

High school diploma required

Labor & Delivery (L&D) OR experience required

Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures

Good communication, teamwork, and physical stamina


Work Environment:

Operating room setting with exposure to various surgical procedures, equipment, and clinical conditions.
